Our services

We primarily calibrate gas analysers, both in the laboratory and on site, including:

• analysers for measuring gaseous emissions from stationary sources
• portable personal safety gas detectors
• indoor air quality analysers
• process analysers

We also test analyser performance characteristics:

• response time
• limit of detection and limit of quantification
• assessment of interfering substances
• linearity deviation
• zero and span repeatability
• short-term drift
• influence of supply voltage
• influence of sample gas pressure
• efficiency of the NO₂ converter

Accreditation to NP EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 applies to the activities included in the respective technical annexes.

ABOUT US

About us

Pollutant emission monitoring, air pollution and air quality, and occupational hygiene, safety and health are growing fields in Europe and Portugal. This development is driven by legislation, stricter audit quality requirements, improvements in available equipment and increased metrological control to improve measurement accuracy. Through its services, LMEG aims to meet the quality requirements for metrological control of the equipment used by organisations in these fields.

The laboratory was established in late 2008 to calibrate gas analysers. During 2009 and 2010, it implemented and validated the parameters and methods that led to accreditation to NP EN ISO/IEC 17025 in June 2011.

LMEG aims to strengthen its position as a reference laboratory for gas metrology in Portugal by implementing new parameters and calibration ranges and improving its calibration and measurement capabilities. The laboratory also plans to expand its services internationally.

Our mission is to provide a quality service tailored to our clients’ needs, helping them improve their quality standards and competitiveness.
